It looks like you got this saw for a christmas and you have not any experiences how to work with tools like this one. You should have a real table for this saw. Wood should not spin, or twist the blade when you cut and the work piece should lie down on a straight plate all the way through . Otherwise, you will burn the blade as well as the wood.
I also work with this saw – MAKITA SP 6000k.
